Recently I bought some Zigbee plant sensors and I added these to Home Assistant, but not all sensors that have been found by ZHA are correct. The humidity sensor should be a soil sensor and the value of this sensor isn’t picked up. Is there a way to get this sensor functioning the way it should?
Yes, i had the same problem, it seems this device is quite new and would need a custom quirk to connect, that is not written yet. I swapped out ZHA for Zigbee2MQTT, which makes this device work for me.
hello @wallie018, welcome to the forum
and thanks for sharing you’re solution. I already have quite some devices configured through ZHA so switching to Zigbee2MQTT is a big step. Hopefully a custom quirk will become available eventually.
Hello, I just started Home Assistant, I followed the configuration in Zigbee2MQTT (it actually found the device) but it unconfigured the ZHA. I understand that it is a problem with the connection (Radio) between them. Should I change the connection ports of one of the two? Thanks
If I understand well
you want to use Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA at the same time with only 1 Zigbee stick ? Won’t work, Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA both need exclusive access to the Zigbee stick.
If you want to run Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA at the same time, you need 2 Zigbee sticks.
I can confirm that humidity is the soil humidity.
so it does not really need any manual quirks. Just rename the sensor in HA.
It is zero as long as it is measuring empty air. if you touch it with your finger or put it into actual soil, the value goes up.
Any clue regarding the normal ranges for these sensors?
