When attempting to add propane usage, measured in gallons, as a gas consumption source, the UI displays the following error:
Unexpected unit of measurement
The following entities do not have an expected unit of measurement (either of GJ, kWh, MJ, MWh, Wh for an energy sensor or either of CCF, ft³, m³ for a gas sensor):
- sensor.main_house_propane_yearly (gal)
On the main Energy Dashboard, gas consumption is displayed, but the graph incorrectly labels it as ft³. It would be great if the Energy Dashboard supported gallons as a valid unit of measurement.
Propane is commonly measured in gallons, and while conversion to CCF or cubic meters is possible, external factors can impact the conversion.
Since adding a propane gallon sensor as a heat source works correctly, I’m hoping this might be a relatively simple change to implement on the Energy Dashboard.
