Swiss Avalanche Bulletin (SLF)

Swiss Avalanche Bulletin (SLF) — official avalanche danger levels in HA

Pulls the official Swiss avalanche bulletin from the WSL Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF) for any location in/near Switzerland.

What it does

  • Resolves your coordinates to the correct SLF warning region automatically
  • sensor.slf_avalanche_danger_level_<label> — current danger level as a number (1–5), usable directly in automations, with the full text label, validity period, and raw rating data as attributes
  • sensor.slf_avalanche_region_<label> — confirms which SLF region was matched to your coordinates
  • sensor.slf_avalanche_problem_1/2/3_<label> — up to 3 currently reported avalanche problems (wind-drifted snow, persistent weak layers, etc.) with elevation range and aspects
  • Supports multiple locations (e.g. home + a cabin) via multiple config entries
  • Danger-level and avalanche-problem text follow the official multilingual EAWS terminology, localized DE/EN/FR/IT
