Switch + dimmer + 220 -> 12V power adapter on WiFi?

If possible, it would be nice to have 1 device that is:

  • a dimmer
  • a switch (guess the dimmer already can do that)
  • a power adapter 220 → 12V
  • connected over WiFi
  • fully local

Does something like this exist or what good alternatives do you know of (to buy or DIY)?

Do you mean 12V dimmer with built in PSU?

For what load? :eyes:

  • Voltage
  • maximum current
  • AC or DC
  • type of load (resistive…)

Getting some $5 esphome capable dimmer like this sinilink one and pair it with a PSU of your choice :raised_hands:

The claimed rating for this device is up to 36V and 5A which would equal 180W. Very much doubt that capabilities without at least some heatsink on the triac mosfet. But we use plenty of this devices and no troubles at all dimming long led strips (12/24V) as well as solenoid valves. Highest load we yet used was probably 50W :zap:

Mosfet.
Protosupplies tested D4184 mosfet module up 12V10A, but Sinilink gate voltage might be lower and that could noticeably raise the heat.

You might look at the Sonoff D1. It is easily Tasmotized (ESPHome’d?).

DIY: If I remember correctly, a trigger relative to the AC waveform to when dimming starts is easily brought out.

Sorry, forgotten to mention…

1A/12V DC, it’s for a LED panel

So no sonoff D1 because that is for an AC load :bulb:

The sinilink device mentioned should do the trick, just pair it with a 12V/1.2A (or more) PSU and you should be good :electric_plug:

Does it have to be " XY-WFMS"?

The link in ESPHome towards Ali refers to another model…

Almost whatever logic level mosfet controlled by esp can do pwm at 12V1A.

Sinilink, Shelly rgbw…or DIY. But (afaik) non of commercial ones have 220to12V psu onboard so you need to have that separately.
