Switch/relay for awnings (no neutral)

I would like to make my awnings “smart” but I face an important limitation, there is no neutral available behind my current “dumb” switch. Unfortunately, I am renting my apartment and I am very limited to what I change to the internal electrical wiring of the house.

I don’t care if it’s going to be a switch or a relay behind the current switch. It’s important that the smart switch/relay can enforce interlock and keep the physical switch functional. Even if my HA is offline, I would like to be able to control my awnings.

Could something like Shelly Plus 2PM work in my scenario even with no neutral? Do you have any tested suggestion?

I don’t know how much of help is this but there are 3 cables connected to my dumb switch, 1 live and 2 to raise/lower the awnings. I also live in Europe, so it’s 220V.

Thank you for your time!

You could use the aqara h1/z1 2 gang version for interlock without neutral. You’ll just miss some features like power monitoring & device doesn’t act as router

Either way it’s a hassle with something very expensive or something that is cumbersome and looks ugly!

I really don’t care about the power monitoring or the router functionality but unfortunately, I think that the Aqara switches do not provide interlocking in the hardware level and it depends on the software configuration. That means that if HA is offline both buttons could be presses simultaneously and this is something I want to avoid at all costs.

I have found a Legrand rollers’ switch ( 752191 ) in some local stores that fulfills my requirements (battery powered -no neutral-, zigbee, interlock) but I am afraid that the HA implementation is mediocre at best.

edit: After closer observation, the Legrand switch is just a remote and not an actual switch that can replace my dumb one.
