SwitchBot Bot: Integration not possible

Hello everyone,

I am trying to integrate a “Bot” from SwitchBot" into my HA with no success. I’m on:

  • Installationsmethode Home Assistant OS
  • Core2025.10.4
  • Supervisor2025.11.1
  • Operating System16.2
  • Frontend20251001.4

When triying to add the SwitchBot Bluetooth integration there is instantly an error message saying that no supported SwitchBot-devices can be reached.

For Bluetooth I’m using a Shelly Plug S Plus:

I already rebootet my HA und the Plug S.
In the Advertise-Monitor, it finds the mac-address of the SwitchBot.
The app also works without any problems.

I already thought about changing the mode from active to passive bt scanning in the shelly plug s. but i cannot change it - see the screenshot. there is no option. not by using the official shelly app and not by using HA. but i remember when first installing the plug s i set it to active.

do you have an idea how to get things working? thanks a lot

A Switchbot requires an active (back and forth communication) BT connection. Unfortunately, Shelly devices can’t do this with HA. The active and passive settings for the Shelly devices just dictates whether they silently listen (passive) or actively send out a ‘send me your data’ message; it’s still just one-way communication from the device to the Shelly.

You’ll have to use a BT dongle or an ESPHome BT Proxy (or the Switchbot hub).
