I absolutely cannot believe Switchbot got a "works with Home Assistant" certification, when the damn thing can't even function in offline mode. That's just crazy.
I certainly can understand your frustration at having something that isn't truly local only, but in fairness, that product, at least from what I can see, does not carry the "Works with Home Assistant" badge. Products are certified for that, not companies. Here's a list of all the Switchbot products with the "Works with Home Assistant" certification.
As I said, I don't see anything called with Hub Mini Matter in that list. Maybe I missed it?

As for the product itself, I'll correct myself again, for now it doesn't seem to go into zombie mode, as soon as I allowed access to 224.0.0.251:5353/UDP

May I ask about which product and/or functionality are you talking about? I am curious as a consumer.
I mean what does not work offline
