SwitchBot joins Works with Home Assistant

Thanks. I remember trying that awhile back and thinking it was kind of weird the way some devices were implemented. Maybe I will give it another look.

Does the Matter certification also means it works locally? About 6 months ago I came across information that using their hub required an internet connection for the devices to work.

Been considering the BLE integration though.

When will Switchbot add full bluetooth integration support for Keypad Vision ? I don’t want to use any cloud / internet based solutions when adding temporary passcodes for eg.

Also the Keypad has a doorbell button, which could be integrated into home assistant to trigger what ever automation you can imagine.

Currently my bluetooth proxy can see keypad vision, but since it is not supported by the integration, I cannot connect to it. I dont have a hub, nor will I ever get one.

Things must be local, simple as that.

Bought my first switchbot product, and wow am I disappointed. The garage door opener just presents as a switch, and you can’t view the status. It should present as a cover entity. The switchbot app doesn’t have this limitation. How can a company be part of this program, but their new products have terrible home assistant integration?

Yeah keypad vision support will be very coool.
For the fan vertical move on off switch, light and led indicator switch will be very nice too.

Add me to the list as someone who really wants to see the Keypad Vision added to the Switchbot Bluetooth integration please.

At the very least give us access to the doorbell button. If I don’t have a good idea for it then I’ll just use it as a more convenient lock button despite the keypad already having one lol.

Hey there, helpful feedback about the garage door opener but also worth noting that we certify by device, not by the company as a whole. The garage door opener isn’t on the certified device list. That said, happy to send that feedback to their team.

I totally understand. Also it’s frustrating that their app is hard coded to use Google home for matter. You think a company is new products would just work with home assistant with matter, but I guess it’s dependent on a manufacturer having the firmware correct when the product is released. The did provide an update that presents it as a lock in HA now, so it’s an improvement, but I’d argue the product was prematurely released, hence why not on the list directly

Just wondering but did Switchbot finally fix their Matter issue? I’m pretty sure this was well known among HA users at least, but when you block their hub from the Internet you lost local control.

That was my experience last year when using the Matter bridge method. Although strangely the status for my Lock still changed when I manually turned it.

I ask because I just got the Lock Ultra and when testing it again I was able to control the lock after blocking the internet. So I was just wondering if this has been fixed or if others are still having this issue despite my results?

Is there any way to get my Vacuum to clean a certain area using Switchbot in Home Assistant? I can turn it on / off, change the fan speed and return it home, but I want to change which mode it goes to when I turn it on (e.g. specific room / whole house etc)

Yeah such a basic thing being able to clean specific rooms from homeassistant automations with lots of people asking for it, please can this be added to bluetooth, matter or both. I like switchbot but am starting to regret buying the K10+ now as the software is limiting its potential in home assistant
