Switchbot Meter Pro and Indoor/Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer

Hey guys!

I just bought the two mentioned devices and managed to add them to my Home Assistant via Bluetooth, but I have a small issue that I’d like to solve. I use the Meter Pro in my living room and the outdoor sensor on the balcony (there’s one wall/window between them and about 7 meters of distance). Using my phone, I managed to link them together so I could see the outdoor readings on the Meter Pro. Then I connected both devices through the SwitchBot Bluetooth integration, and the readings appeared in Home Assistant as well.

After installing the temperature sensor outside, all readings were fine in Home Assistant, but the Meter Pro stopped refreshing the outdoor data until I moved the sensor closer — to around 5 meters. Since then, it’s been working fine, but I’m curious if it’s possible to use Home Assistant to send the outdoor readings to the Meter Pro, since HA seems to have much better Bluetooth range than the Meter Pro itself.

If that’s not possible, it’s not a big deal — it works well enough — but it would be nice to place the sensor farther away, and maybe later install one in my garage too.

I have 30 days to return it, so if you know of any similar devices (a display showing both indoor and outdoor readings, compatible with Home Assistant) but with better performance for the same price, please let me know and I’ll check them out.

This is exactly what ESP based bluetooth proxies are meant to do. No soldering or anything required. They just need wifi, which has way better range. You place them near the bluetooth device, e.g. in the shed or garage.

My Home Assistant had good connection with the Meter Pro and the seansor even when it was placed farther away, the problem is that my Meter Pro couldnt find the temp sensor anymore, can a bluetooth proxy help with that too?

Probably not.
