Anyone here using the Switchbot blind tilt motors via their hub/cloud?
I’m running into some confusion about how to control the blind individually versus as a group. The app lets me group up to four of them so they move together. This works from their app. Though the app gives no way to control the grouped shades individually.
The four blinds are ‘office left’, ‘desk left’, ‘desk center’ and ‘desk right’. They were grouped in the app on the ‘desk center’ blind. When I use the app to control the ‘desk center’ they move as a group. When I use HA to control ‘desk center’ they also move as a group.
If I use HA and control ‘desk left’ on it’s own, only that one moves.
If I use HA and control ‘office left’ both that and ‘desk left’ move.
If I use HA and control ‘desk right’ then it moves ‘desk right’ AND both ‘office left’ and ‘desk left’ but NOT ‘desk center’.
I’m thinking there’s some behind-the-scenes bluetooth group order thing going on here? As in, the order in which the shades were added to the group (from within the app) affects how commands ‘cascade’ when HA is used to control them?
Help me understand how the HA interface is supposed to work when there’s also the Switchbot hub connected for them.
That or is there a way to get ‘coordinated’ movement via some sort of ‘virtual device’ or group from within HA?
My goal is mainly scheduled movement of all of them, but allow individual adjustments due to sunlight glare.
I’m not sure where the limitations exist here, in the switchbot setups themselves, in HA or some combination of both?
