Switched from Nest wifi to Eero now IKEA switches are slow to respond

I recently switched from using an original Nest Wifi (not pro) to using an Eero pro 6 router. Home assistant picked up the change and reported the Eero as my new border router. I had three IKEA bileresa matter switches set-up using Google Home. I deleted the switches from home assistant and factory reset each of the switches, re-adding them using the Home Assistant app. The adding process was much slower than Google Home and took a few tries however eventually worked (not sure why?).

Annoyingly now everything is set up the switches are really slow to respond, with button presses taking several seconds to register, if they register at all. These switches were working perfectly when using my Nest wifi. One of the switches is located in the room with the Eero so range surely shouldn’t be an issue. Is there something obvious that I am missing or a process that I should have done? I have tried turning all devices on and off and re-pairing the switches to no avail. The only other thing I can think of is that the Eero thread performance just isn’t as good as the Nest, however surely it should work for devices in the same room. The Eero is also much newer device so this seems implausible…but i guess you never know. I have Home Assistant running on a Raspberry pi 5, lights are instant to turn on and off using the Home Assistant dashboard.

Anyone experience the same thing when changing border routers?
