Symfonisk Speakers & Sonos

Hi all,
What would happen if Sonos dropped support for the Symfonisk speakers? Would I still be able to use them “offline” without access to Sonos’ cloud?

I don’t even know why these things need to connect to the manufacturer’s cloud service.

I’m thinking of buying one but I want it to function as a local Wifi speaker that I can stream to from Music Assistant or my own audio server.

I don’t own any Sonos speakers, but in theory, you should be safe in this scenario. The Sonos integration is listed as Local push, so you don’t need the cloud for it to operate.

Instead you might just build some streaming unit with music assistant / espHome and utilize a pair of speakers you already own :raised_hands:
