Hello, I can imagine everyone who already owns a tablet to use for HA has his own preferences but maybe there are some good tips with specific tablets with good specs and wall mount accessoire included and the price max would be arround € 200,- because I won’t use it for other things, only to run HA without slow performances. Thanks
The best tablet to use is the one you have doing nothing in a drawer somewhere.
The second best tablet is the one you are using that you are willing to upgrade to a shiny new one.
As for wall mounts I have no idea as I would just design and 3d print my own ones.
Right now I use a fire tablet 10, and it does everything I need. I would not buy one though for a wall tablet, as Amazon tie them down too much these days.
Don’t forget that there are lots of refurbished tablets around - no need to buy new. I have a very old Nexus running Android 7 - a bit slow, but fine for the bedroom which is hardly ever occupied. It cost £20 on Ebay.
In my experience, the main thing to think about is the display, particularly if you want the same dashboard to appear in several different rooms - it may look quite different on different devices.
I’ve never come across a tablet with a mounting kit.
crestron TSW units
enter HA address and you have functioning unit.
used market only if you can find them
I bought a galaxy tab 7 lite a few years back on sale. Its been solid for HA.
I also have a few Lenovo ThinkSmart Views running Lineage OS, and have been great as dashboards. The Lenovo’s were running as low as $30 on eBay a few years ago, but have gone up due to demand.
