I have a boiler of the following model : megalis condens gvac21-5mn
I now know for a fact that the tado v3+ can communicate with this boiler and operate modulation.
My question : I want to monitor the temperature in each room using connected thermometers and connected valves (aqara) on each radiator. How would that works with the tado (in offline mode, trough home kit) ? I mean for my system to work I must able to set the current and target temperature inside the tado… Does an integration like Better Thermostat do that automatically ? That would be bad if had to turn off and on the boiler trough automation as it kind of defeat the purpose of being able to modulate power of the boiler with the tado.
What this integration does is to get accurate room temperature as it can use independent temperature sensor, not one on trv, and then calibrate trv on the fly.
This is good because you will get actual room temperature. It can also adjust trv based on outside temperature.
Now, I don’t know anything about tado as I’m not using it.
But heat system or at least majority of them is working like this.
They prepare hot water for heating and then send it to radiators.
Radiators will distribute that heat based on they trv settings, smart or dumb. The most heat will get radiator with less resistance.
With smart trv you can adjust that resistance and send more heat to the radiators you need because they are in rooms you are using and send less heat to the radiators that are in the rooms you are not actually using or using it less frequently.
