TadoX compatibility with Matter

Sadly after many weeks of trying I have given up trying to add TadoX thermostatic radiator valves to HA. I have tried every possible combination of TadoX Bridges, Apple TV, Google Home Thread Routers and nothing works.

I add all 11 devices to Tado app, no problem (with TadoX bridges turned on)

I try to add them to HA, ‘Device not found’

I add all 11 devices to Apple Home, no problem (with TadoX bridges turned on)

I try to add to HA ‘Device not found’

I try again using the Apple thread code with the TadoX bridges turned off.

I try to add to HA ‘Device not found’

But after turning off the TadoX bridges the TadoX app looses connection to some of the devices and so does Apple Home.

So I am resigned to not being able to add these devices to HA. I will have to use both HA and Apple Home rather than one interface.

Maybe an upgrade to the Matter/Thread config in HA will resolve this? Maybe a dedicated config for TadoX devices will appear. But for now this is the way it is.

I will keep a watchful eye on any upgrades that may resolve this hopefully.

Well I thought I had created a convoluted work around …

I added all the TadoX devices to Apple Home, then used the setup code in Home to add to SmartThings. This worked great! I then added them to HA via the ST integration, this worked great, but a few hours later the devices became UnAvailable in ST and HA :cold_sweat:

Well finally SUCCESS!

So my solution is convoluted and did cost money but it works, all 13 TadoX thermostat valves connected and stable now for 24 hours.

So I connected all to the Tado app using the TadoX Bridges (2No.). I then connected them all to Apple Home. I then extended my Apple thread network (an Apple TV 4K) with a Homepod mini (I had to buy this). I then connected them all using the Apple Home matter codes to SmartThings. Then I turned off the TadoX Bridges and connected them to HA with the SmartThings matter code. They would not connect to HA with the TadoX Bridges turned on.

Bingo, all connected and seems stable.
