Tapo C120 cannot add Integration

I’ve been trying to get off of my legacy Wyze cameras for awhile now, the app is becoming more useless and I’ve never gotten them to work in HA even with the Wyze Bridge.

Anyways, I’m trying to connect the C120 because I saw it has an official integration now. But I can’t get it to connect, or even prompt for username/password.

On the iOS app, I’ve set a Camera Account. I’ve enabled Third Party access under Tapo Labs. I know this works, because if I use the Tapo Control HACS integration, I can pull a live feed from it, and it reports all the controls.

If I try to add the native Tapo integration, it first prompts for my device. If I manually use the IP, it fails, says “device connection error”. If I leave the IP blank, and let it Auto Discover, it finds it, listing it by the last four digits of the MAC, and then the IP. Fine, so I select it.

It then spins for a few seconds and then only displays “Failed to Connect”. I’m never prompted for a username or password. This is my first Tapo device, so I don’t have a Tapo integration to modify the parameters on.

Am I missing something? I’ve rebooted HA, I’ve factory reset the C120. I’ve disabled / re-enabled the Camera Account and Third Party Access.

Tapo Control works fine, but I can’t use it to trigger on any alerts apparently, no sensors for it. So although I appreciate the live feed, it can’t replace my cameras motion detection if it won’t alert me, and I don’t want to rely on the Tapo iOS app for alerts.

Well I even lost my regular feed from the HACS Control. Guess Tapo isn’t up for it. I had been comparing to Reolink and their stuff I know is recommended and seems good, just was a little more expensive. I was trying to stay in the same ecosystem and Reolink’s doorbell is more pricey than the Tapo. But apparently Tapo isn’t reliable so I’ll rip it out.

Sorry for any bothers
