Tapo C720 with Tp-Link Smart Home does not allow floodlight control

Hi, I’ve installed the Tapo C720 floodlight cameras and connected them to HA via the Tp-Link Smart Home integration. I see 8 entities, which all seem to be control type entities (e.g. turning on/off motion detection). None seem to actually control the floodlight’s current state, most importantly for me, the floodlight being on or off or triggering a timed floodlight on state (e.g. I detect motion from another motion sensor connected to HA).

The HACS integeation (GitHub - JurajNyiri/HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control: Control for Tapo cameras as a Home Assistant component) has control of the floodlight but I’m really surprised I’m not seeing it in the official integration given it’s a core feature of the floodlight.

I own a few TP-Link Tapo C520WS cameras which have smart mode (floodlight - White LEDs) and was wondering about the same - why is there no floodlight entity in the core HomeAssistant Tapo Cameras Integration.

The current status of this functionality is broken in the TP-Link Firmware for my cameras.
Currently (since February) I have an open ticket with TP-Link and they already sent me 4 firmware versions where they actually didn’t fix it. Personally I lost hope they’ll ever fix it, I have the impression they have no clue what they’re doing there.

Coming back to HomeAssisstant, I used the HACS custom integration - JurajNyiri/HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control: Control for Tapo with success for automatically switching the floodlight on detection events, but I went into some problems with the ONVIF integration.
I’m not sure if it was my setup or some conflict with the HACS Tapo Control integration, but I missed some ONVIF events (motion detection stop) and the cameras were recording continuously.
With the core TP Link Integration from Home Assistant I don’t have these issues.

So, as the OP is questioning - I’d also like to ask for floodlight / White LED support in the core HA TP Link Integration.

I wish I could help myself. but unfortunately I’m a total noob at python. Some skilled python developer could easily add the feature/entity.
