Tapo P110M Energy Monitoring

Yeah, downloaded the Tapo app and it all worked fine…. Thanks

Mine is connected on a Matter server.
Firmware been updated. I had just to wait for.

I use the Merross Mini Smart Plug with Matter. Energy reporting works well but the plugs disappear and appear almost every day. Shit devices…

Energy monitoring is now working on the P110M. I’ve number of them, all working fine. HA 2025.8.2 and P110M firmware version 1.3.0

How did you get it working in the Energy tab ?

I only see energy consumption as diagnostic data How to get Tapo P110M plug data into Energy

I have several P110Ms connected to home assistant using matter, all running firmware 1.3.0

I’ve found that they show the “energy” sensors under diagnostic if they have access to the internet. If they are unable to phone home for an extended period of time (I have yet to determine specifically how long), the energy sensors will become unavailable.

This isn’t great, and I hope they are able to release a firmware update that removes this dependency. I have the previous generation P110 plugs (non-matter) from which I am able to read the energy values, even without an active internet connection for an extended period of time.

Is that what is causing it? It’s been driving me crazy. I would not have purchased if I knew this were the case.

Toying with buying a couple of these - am i correct in understanding that (in theory - i see a few people have issues), energy should now be working in HA?

Current, Voltage, and Power work via Matter without an internet connection. Turning on and off also works.

Energy works via Matter only with an internet connection to set the time/date.

I have set up Integral Sensors in Home Assistant to calculate the Energy from the Power.

Thanks, sounds good enough for me for now :+1:t2:

The issue persist in Core 2025.10.4

Hi,

has anyone else had their PM 110M plugs sensors duplicate?

I realised that my readings were off from usual and had a more careful look and I now have Energy (1) and Energy (2) sensors. The current sensor being used is just locked on the last good reading for Energy (2) but now the actual data is present on Energy (1). So I had to go in to my Power and Energy dashboards and update the valid sensors.

I have 10 of these and it has happened for most of them, but not all. Some have not duplicated. Of the ones that have, a few still have the valid data coming through on the selected sensor.

I can see the duplicated sensors in the Matter server dashboard, but am not sure how to rectify this.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, I’ve had the same. As far as I can tell, this happened after the most recent firmware update.

I’ve had two of these in a drawer since August 2024 and finally today got them out again. I still had them added to Home Assistant and was pleasently surprised that they worked straight away. However, I of course needed to update the firmware to get access to the energy monitoring features.

The firmware update didn’t work over Home Assistant, it claimed that there was no update available. So instead I removed them both from matter, paired them to Tapo using their app, updated the firmware there, removed from Tapo, and re-paired them to Home Assistant. If we ignore that it’s unfortunate I had to do all that, it was a smooth experience. Now the energy monitoring appears in Home Assistant.

For both it seems that Home Assistant thinks the latest firmware is 1.0.0, with the installed firmware as 1.3.0 (although I could’ve sworn the Tapo app has it as 1.4.1). For anyone curious they’re the P110M with a device vendor id of 5010 and product id of 264

Very late reply but I too have had this issue after devices updated to 1.4.1. A fix is to make a note of the device name, delete the device and then re-add using the same device name. The entities are all reset back to their defaults and joins up with the previous data so no loss. It’s a pain and we shouldn’t have to do this but I’m not sure where the fault lays and where a bug should be reported?
