I love the Tesla EV Integration with Home Assistant. I use it to tally energy usage in my home, but noticed a weirdity yesterday after my first stop at a Supercharger in a long while. I look at power usage two ways - current * voltage and by mi/hr charge rate. The current * voltage is in blue, the charge rate * 240 in orange. Two home charging sessions on the left and the Supercharger spike in mi/hr charge spike in orange on the right. But why no “voltage * current” power spike in blue with the Supercharger ?
When I push down into the actual data, the Influxdb database mirroring my Home Assistant data shows the Supercharging mi/hr data, and a matching voltage spike, but current stays zero.
I haven’t probed inside the Tesla sensors, and really don’t need to since I’m only concerned about home power consumption. Just wondering if anyone knows why this happens ? Intended behavior so Home Assistant doesn’t pick up out-of-home charging ? Current is way above the current limit, so it would be easy to check.
