Thank you! I am new to HA but I’ve been using Z-Wave for years. It is a fantastically polished project and an absolute joy to use. In just 48 hours from cold, I’ve got everything visible in my new setup on a Pi 4B (Genius heating controller, local Z-Wave, UK Met Office weather and even some Oria ThermoPlus BLE Temperture sensors via HACS.
It’s a joy to install and set up and (at least for a software guy like me) totally intuitive.
But your workspace and your cabling are far too tidy. Please repost a pic with the cables tangled and a whole lot of half unpacked packages from aliexpress and amazon littering the bench.
It did the job, but it wasn’t flexible. It did allow me to build up quite an estate of devices though, over the years.
I still use Heat Genius for heating control (that’s on its own Z-Wave domain) because that has always been an incredibly stable system that does one task exceptionally well. But as HA can front it for battery monitoring and manual overrides, leaving it in place gives the best of both worlds.
