The Advance mode switch is missing

I am trying to enable advance mode which I believe should be accessible by clicking my user icon in the bottom left corner.
The option doesn’t appear in that menu.
I have tried logging out and in again, and creating a new admin user, but neither makes an difference.

What am I doing wrong?
