The Alexa Media Player no longer works for me

My HA is

  • Installation methodHome Assistant OS
  • Core2025.11.3
  • Supervisor2025.11.4
  • Operating System16.3
  • Frontend20251105.1

Suddenly the Alexa Media Player no longer works. I did a reboot, I did a Restore from a previous backup, I uninstalled AMP and installed it again… None of this worked.
When re-installing AMP it tells me that the Amazon 2SV Authentication App Key is not good, even though I get from the Google Authentication App on my Iphone.

Can someone help me ?

I have no help, but I am experiencing the same problem.

Let’s hope that there will be a solution.

Same here, after some struggle succeed to authenticate but the devices dissapeared.

I have a script to show our front door Ring camera on our Echo Show with several Play Media steps using routine or custom in Media Content Type and none of the actions are working even though the trace shows the actions completed. The logs are showing the Echo as unavailable.

All I can tell you is the AMP integration is broken again wait for a fix

I upgraded to 5.8.0 but now I get the following:

The Amazon Skill IS enabled !

Just updated AMP to 5.8.0 and the issue is resolved for me.

Same for me just applied update to Alexa Media Player and voice notification now working.

@danielbrunt57 told me (on Github) how to do it right and it now works.

Not working for me :pensive:

I’m on 5.8.0.

Could this be a regional issue, as I’m in Australia. I tried com as well as com.uk and no joy.

Looks like it could be working. I thought I had to enter the 6 digit code FROM the authentication app.

That is what I did wrong as well. You need to get a (long) code directly from Amazon.com.

I upgraded to 5.8.0 after HA 2025.11.2 broke this, and still it’s not working. Does reauthentication to Amazon resolve the issue?

Yes, use the Amazon “new app” authentication code. NOT through the Google (other equivalent) Authentication. I made that mistake.

Yep, I did that with initial setup. Looks like I had to regenerate the OTP.

Thanks,
