The Future of Z-Wave in HA - QT-OpenZWave

Is there any chance that the “add-on” is better maintained? I think there will be a bigger audience that uses this way of hass than the docker ones.

Please, remember that this is still a very beta integration that you are also trying to use an alpha admin tool with. I am sure since this is the future of Zwave supported integration, there will be an admin tool that will work with the official add-on as contributors continue to refine the integration on their free time. Being OSS, everyone is able to contribute to the projects.

Being OSS?

Well I’m the Author of OZW and ozwdaemon. If I stop work, the entire Zwave integration will suffer!

The “add-on” is just a small wrapper around the official OZW docker image. So both are equal

hello,
I just installed the new openzwave beta and it seems to work great for my few devices.
only thing that is missing is controlling rgb lights.
My question is about the old integration.
Can I delete the old integration files?
OZW_Log.txt
pyozw.sqlite
zwcfg_0xf888e9de.xml
zwscene.xml

Thank you, so for me to be clear… the “add-on” like I asked above, should work with the windows admin tools?

Should and does.

See few posts above. Does not for me, have I done something wrong?

hello,
I can’t seem to connect…
What is the authentication key?
I’m running hass.io on rpi3b+

Make sure you’re using Build 96 of the Windows config tool: http://bamboo.my-ho.st/bamboo/browse/OZW-OZW-96 and that in the OpenZWave addon config page you put 1983 instead of null in the port field.

Thanks.
It is working now.
Is it possible to see a map of the network?

Can I delete the old z-wave integration files?
OZW_Log.txt
pyozw.sqlite
zwcfg_0xf888e9de.xml
zwscene.xml

Make sure you are using the correct version of ozw-admin as stated by @johnflorin

Is it possible? – probably yes – But at this time there is nothing available

Yes – but maybe you want to keep them as a backup just in case

Thank you all for the quick and helpful reply

Yes, I have downloaded the file again and now it is different. The filename of the windows artifact (filename 0.1.0) is the same however, bit confusing. Thanks, will look further now.

Any roadmap available?

EDIT: Okay got it now. added a device. Trying to update parameters but not sure “how to save” them…

is there any “save” button somewhere I am missing? just changing and waking up seems not enough…?

EDIT: seems fine now, just takes “a few attempts”. Would be cool to see some feedback.

I am getting exited in this being a good replacement of Vera… Is there anything I can help/assist with? Test? Else? I am not a coder/programmer but a very enthusiast user! (with 10 years Vera experience - being it not very positive though).

I’ve just uploaded a new “all in one” docker image that contains ozwdaemon and OZW-admin accessible via VNC/WebVNC. Check https://github.com/OpenZWave/qt-openzwave (missing the port options in the docker commands though).

There is still lots of work including lots of polish to be done on OZW-admin. Please leave feedback on the OZW-admin GitHub issue tracker.

I see there is a new version available for the Open Z-Wave daemon (v1.0.18) but on the details page it’s listing as deprecated:

But i don’t see this addon on the official repo…

The official addon has always been there since the beta release. Look for “OpenZwave”.

If you are on 0.110 it should be available.

Duhh. so i was using the wrong addon… Switched to the official one.
