The INTEL NUC distribution for HASSIO is HASSOS?

Just confirming the HASSIO image for the NUC on the HASSIO installation page is a version of HASSOS like we have on the PI?

Are the installation instructions the same as for pi? ie burn to SD Card or USB and load???

That’s how it worked for me using the NUC image (I’m not on a NUC specifically, but just a 64-bit Intel/AMD compatible machine and that appears to be the best HassOS match for x86-64 machines). I wrote the image out to a hard drive (or SSD or whatever) and it will hopefully boot.

IMPORTANT NOTE – It is UEFI only, so your machine MUST support UEFI boot from whatever OS disk you use (SSD, HDD, USB, etc) and UEFI-boot must be enabled.

In theory, it will boot up and “just work” you go to hassio.local in a web browser and “that’s it”. It also appeared (in my case) to somehow magically “grow” from 6GB to the full capacity of the disk I put it on as it started up the system.

I don’t know why it was done with UEFI instead of the more reliable BIOS boot loader, but I do know that’s where I spent most of my headaches which included finding somewhere I had that supported UEFI to run it (and wasn’t my main computer), troubleshooting and updating a buggy UEFI firmware on my system. I’ve found that more often than not, even on a brand new SuperMicro server board, KVM, and other setups where UEFI booting hangs, fails, or is generally unreliable until you find the right updates and settings.
