The voice assistant is unable to connect to Home Assistant - raspberry pi

So I'm following the setup guide, and I have my voice assistant connected to wifi, but when I try to configure I get the following error message. I have Home Assistant installed on a Raspbery Pi, and I set the home assistant URL to the IP of the raspberry pi, and I've tried setting the local url to the IP of my raspberry pi, and using automatic, but no matter what it doesn't connect. I found a few other threads that said it might be TLS, but I'm using http. Any other ideas? Thanks.

To play audio, the voice assistant device has to connect to Home Assistant to fetch the files. Our test shows that the device is unable to reach the Home Assistant server.

You have probably worked it out by now ... but maybe not.

The reason you got no replies is because we can't work out what you are talking about...

  • which "setup guide"
  • what voice assistant device ?
  • what IP address are you actually using, and where, on each device ?
  • but my BIG question is ... if your device is not connecting, how do you see any error message on the voice device ?
  • where is the error message showing ? In an app ? in the HA System Log ?

I gave up for about a week and decided to dive back in today, and it just started working. No changes, so I have no idea what happened. Maybe the app updated? The error was in the app, but today it just went through without any issues.
