Thermasol ThermaTouch Integration

Thermasol produces a connected “smart shower” product called ThermaTouch. The device integrates with Alexa, and Google Home support is advertised as “coming soon.” It would be great to see an integration with Home Assistant.

I have a ThermaTouch 10" Control powering my steam shower, but I lack the technical skill to reverse engineer the API. I would be happy to partner with someone if there is interest in pursuing this project. The device runs Android with their control app running in a Kisosked mode, they also have a locked-down internal app store that exposes some android apps.

I have also submitted a request directly to Thermasol for a formal integration with Home Assistant, including formal support of the HA Mobile App on the device itself. But, I doubt they will take action on that.

Hi Bryan
Did you ever get anywhere with Thermasol or otherwise sideloading HA or other apps?
We’re installing a system soon and are trying to figure out how locked down the controller is.

There is a Bluetooth chat app in the ThermaSol curated app store that allows file transfer. I played around a bit with trying to get non-approved apps on the device and ultimately used the chat app to transfer a new root CA for decrypting its SSL traffic with a reverse proxy in an attempt to reverse engineer the API it’s using for its Alexa integration. But honestly, I got in over my head and didn’t make it very far; I haven’t had time to give it much attention since.

You can access the underlying Android OS via the Service Mode option and by entering the passcode 1958.
