Thermostat off, but running?

How is this state possible? Thermostat is off (according to HomeAssistant) but is actually running (according to HomeAssistant). And it was in fact running (heating). Honeywell T6 z-wave.

It probably reported wrong state. Try to pair it again.

It’s been working fine for 4 months with HomeAssistant (and 6 years prior with Nexia). Just this one instance when it’s been out of sync. Is there anyway to “force” a resync?

I occasionally see a similar issue. If I refresh the state on the Zwave node it gets back to the correct value (you can first check manually in the Zwave UI to verify that’s the issue)

I’ve made an automation to let me know if/when the hvac action is heating/cooling AND the state is “off”. At least then I can investigate immediately. Would a “ping” resync the state?

I’ve been running that script at /10 on 4 T6s for over a year with zero issues. Thank you, I’ll give that a try.

PS. I will use that automation on another IR Blaster/Thermostat. As that one only updates its temp every 6 hours (making it mostly useless as a thermostat).

I don’t know if this caused my issue, or just uncovered a bug. The thermostat is Off, but clicking the +/- temperature buttons still do something. It may only be cosmetic, but the +/- should probably not do anything when the thermostat is off.
