Third party devices in Hue integration intermittently not responsive

Hi, I am new to HA (HA green) and after setting it up and integrating my hue bridge I noticed in the log files that some of my third-party bulbs are frequently (every few minutes) not responding before coming back right away. I would like to find out if
(1) this is a known problem for third party devices connected via Hue bridge and
(2) if this is fixable somehow.

(Some background: I decided to switch to HA because I already had problems with Hue devices in homkit before. All of them always became unresponsive in the home app a few days after connecting the bridge while showing no problems directly in the home app.)

Thankful for any input or pointers to a solution!

Sounds like a weak mesh. Try with more router devices.

Thanks for your help. I will try this, however, I doubt that this is the problem. The problematic devices are very close to the hue bridge and other lamps that are further away work fine. I looked again at which devices are showing this behaviour and noticed that it ist only those from Paulmann, while all other lamps (Philips Hue, IKEA, some others) are working fine. Still thankful for further hints if someone has seen this problem before!

It seems removing and re-adding the affected lights to the setup fixes it, at least for now.

Another step would be to remove the Hue hub and add something like a UZG-01 / SLZB + Z2M or ZHA. The Hue hub is proprietary and I believe they also added a mandatory cloud account with data sharing.

Yes, re-adding the lights only helped temporarily, unfortunately. If there is no solution between this and replacing the Hue bridge, I will consider this. Thank you!

I agree with @fleskefjes 100% and also suggest moving away from the Hue Bridge. I went that direction simply because the Hub has become more and more cloud dependent. I moved all of my Hue devices to a ZigBee coordinator (Smlight SLZB-06) a few years back. The devices are integrated in HA via Z2M and I have no regrets.

My only issue was the conversion was time consuming with 75 Hue devices.

The Hue Dimmer Switch is a great device to reset Hue Bulbs

Using a Philips Hue dimmer switch:

For this option, you’ll need to have a Philips Hue dimmer switch.

  • Disconnect the light from power, and connect it again. You can factory reset the light within 30 minutes of it being powered off and back on.
  • Press and hold the top and bottom buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds while holding the dimmer switch nearby the light.
  • Release the buttons after the light flashes.
