ThirdReality Night Light Configuration

I have a Zigbee based ThirdReality Night Light integrated into HA. I am trying to make it a bit more useful as an indicator light. However I am having problems figuring out how to actually use it efficiently.

If you are not familiar with this night light, it has a motion detector that triggers the night light to come on. You can control the light and color, detect motion, and even get illuminance from this device.

What I want to do is have this night light ignore motion EXCEPT when I want it to for an automation. In other words, I do not want this device to illuminate every time it detects motion. I do want it to illuminate if the House Alarm is armed and it detects motion. Is this possible? Has anyone else actually resolved this problem.

I got this light and for me it does not turn on based on hardcoded automation. I believe using this you can disable the hardcoded automation.
Short press the reset button through the pinhole to enable or disable the local routine function. Pressing the button once and seeing a green light indicates that the feature is currently enabled. Pressing the button again and seeing a red light indicates that the routine is disabled.

Wow… thanks so much, Kan84. That sounds like exactly what I needed.
