Thirdreality or Sengled for Zigbee router

OK, I just received my ZBT-2 from Santa and I’m looking to improve my Zigbee network. I’m thinking that I can make things more reliable by moving away from my Securifi Peanut plugs to something newer / better supported.

At the moment I’m debating between the Thirdreality or the Sengled plugs. Anyone have a suggestion as to which one works as a better router and is better supported by ZHA? I would expect these are both pretty close but the router feature is the most important part for me.

Also, if I get a few more bulbs, any suggestions on those? Again, I would like to make a strong mesh so bulbs that act as routers are best.

Thanks!

Definitely avoid the Sengled bulbs if you want routers. They were purposely designed to be end devices to prevent zigbee issues if people cut off their power at the switch.

OK, that’s good to know! Most bulbs I’m aware of are routers. I suppose that’s a good call if you’re going to install the bulbs in a place that has the switches control them.
