Thread Border Router: Smart Speaker or dedicated antenna

Hello,

I just set up HA (Home Assistant) on a ThinClient and am now looking into getting new components.

I want to integrate Thread devices and am wondering if I need to buy a dedicated adapter like the SkyConnect/ZBT2 or the Sonoff USB Dongle Plus (E-Edition/MG24), or if I could just use a smart speaker like the Google Nest Hub (2nd Gen), which already includes a Thread Border Router.

Since I need to buy a device anyway, I would prefer getting the smart speaker to have the screen, sensors, and voice control all in one.

Are there any notable drawbacks to relying solely on the smart speaker instead of using a dedicated USB Thread antenna?

Thank you for your help!

If you like to share everythng in your home with google, go for it! Technically it should work just fine. One border router is sufficient. Some say two are better for redundancy, in case one is down.
