Thread network removal from Android / Samsung

Hi,

My Samsung S25 Ultra seems stuck with a stale thread network and I cant figure out how to clear/reset and add the new thread network.

the only thing I have not tried and im reluctant to attempt is clearing data from the google play services app - this would wipe my google wallet info as well as other stuff.

I have tried:

  1. wiping cache and data for Smartthings, HomeAssistant app, Google Home.
  2. wiping cache for Google Play Service
  3. restarted the phone multiple times
  4. reset wifi/bluetooth
  5. Settings > Google > Services > Threads - shows nothing on both phone although both phones clearly have a saved thread network.

I also have S23 Ultra that has the new network and with it everything works great.

Thread/Matter tip: It needs IPv6 enabled on your HA so thread can work. ← hopefully that save some headache for some of you

So i bit the bullet and wiped the data of Google Play Services. That resets the thread network on the phone. After that you need to REINSTALL Google Home so it can trigger recreating files and config required for matter.

it wipes your google wallet, wearables and a lot of other stuff that take ages to install, but thus far it looks like its the only way to solve this issue.

My advise once you enter a thread network on your phone NEVER CHANGE IT… or at least untill there is an update that help with this.

I am still interested in solutions so if you have em, drop them below, thanks!
