Tiemme 4Heat Stove WiFi Controller

Thanks for your feedback. I’m attaching a clearer diagram so you can better understand the connection. From the RS232 section to the NG21 board, I used an RJ11 6p4c cable.

The only strange thing I noticed in Home Assistant was the binary_sensor sensor:

  • id: calda_offline, which occasionally detected an error for a few seconds and then returned to normal.

I saw that another user, unchiu, had similar problems. I haven’t found any other converters around; which are the reliable ones to use?
Regarding your yaml file, I also tested this part:
select:

  • id: combi
    name: Combi Management
    platform: fourheat
    datapoint: B20379
    options:
    0: “Pellet”
    1: “Wood”
    2: “Wood-Pellet”
    3: “Combi 1”
    4: “Combi 2”
So, switching from “combi” to “Pellet,” “Wood,” or “Wood-Pellet” worked fine. But switching from “Pellet/woord/Wood-Pellet” to “Combi” didn’t work.

Connection between ESP and TTL seems OK There is very little to get something wrong. In past almost always connections were used in the way that ESP Tx was connected to device Rx and vice versa. Nowadays more connections are marked as Rx to Rx and so on. Essentially this doesn’t matter much, when data connection is wrong the thing just does not work.
As before, connection from TTL to RJ11 colors do not tell me anything bcs I have not looked how the pinout in that connection actually is. I personally have great mistrust how companies use internal cabling and that’s way I use RS232 in my layout.
Offline error for me indicates trouble with hardware you added. I personally never had that error.
Additional thing I did not mention before is also outer power source. Additionally to other possible failure points trouble here could theoretically also kill your hardware.
Conclusion is basically same - there is no way to say from here where exactly there failure was. It worked, so most probably all connections were OK and failure was just somewhere in you hardware. Just to be sure however I would double check RJ11 connection.
Unfortunately I don’t know which converters are reliable. I just used exactly that hardware that u can see.

Good to hear that combi mostly works. Manufacturers almost always make some changes (don’t use all board options). Only thing that jumps in mind is - does you fireplace actually have 2 combi options in manual? When not, you could test yaml with just one. Is something else different with combi options in your manual?

Do you have the NG21 Tiemme Hydro service manual?

Hello
I will try to connect esphome as soon as I will receive all material to my Famar boiler which uses a SY400 board.
One question, is there a way to see all binary and analog inputs on the SY400 board from esphome?

Jeff

Hello. I have a pellet stove KEPO AC 25. I have a ESP32 relayboard and ttl->rs232. Can you share your wiring diagram? Thanks

I think the RS232 connection is the same to all Tiemme boards, no? I used pin 2 for ground and 3,4 for tx and rx. Rest is simple connecting rs232 adapter to ESP32 (power, tx, rx, gnd). The adapter in this picture worked perfectly, the smaller one (mentioned a few times above) was not sending/receiving full data streams and caused me problems.

Re-uploading the schematic:

Here are correct datapoints of KEPO MC15 extracted. MC25 should be same I guess. Most part was already found here, but some I had to find myself. Most important to me were DHW demand, temperature and target, so I can control valves with my microcontroller.

  • J30001 – Stove state (ON/OFF, working state)
  • J30002 – Error codes
  • J30011 – Combustion power / mode
  • J40007 – Room thermostat + sensor values
  • J30253 – ON command
  • J30254 – OFF command
  • J30255 – Clear errors
  • J30005 – Exhaust temperature
  • J30006 – Room temperature
  • J30012 – Buffer temperature
  • J30017 – Boiler / water temperature
  • J30020 – Water pressure
  • J30025 – Combustion fan speed (RPM)
  • J30026 – Airflow
  • J30059 – DHW boiler temperature
  • J40016 – DHW demand bit
  • B20184 – DHW thermostat hysteresis (IH21)
  • B20215 – Boiler thermostat hysteresis (IH24)
  • B20196 – DHW thermostat target (TH21)
  • B20210 – Pump activation hysteresis (IH19)
  • B20220 – Pump activation temperature (TH19)
  • B20230 – DHW target temperature
  • B20199 – Boiler target temperature
  • B20241 – Buffer thermostat threshold
  • B20225 – Buffer target temperature
  • B20364 – Power selector (P1–P6 / Auto)
  • B20701 – Cleaning motor off (night mode menu)
  • J40007 – Room thermostat state (bit field)

Good luck!

Hi everyone.
Thanks for sharing the projects and the endpoints.
I’d like to share the results of my project now.
I have an ORY 8003F heat recovery unit, and after struggling to figure out which endpoints it recognizes, I finally managed to identify a few with your help.

Regarding hardware, I highly recommend the Kincony KC868-A6 integrated board.

  • 12V ORY (RS485) => KINCONY
  • RS-232 => Direct to recovery unit (no converters)
  • I2C => TOF200F
  • ESP32

Another cool upgrade was the vacuum pellet loading system.

Hello someone figured out what are the commands list for the SY250? I still missing the power select, also when I try to turn it on via the esphome instance I got “Stove online: Problem”
Also if someone knows how to enable the A50 from the RS232 as I don’t have the parameter on the LCD

Update:
seems that my board refuses the ON command

In preparation for the new heating season, I thoroughly updated the TiEmme NG21 YAML sensors I have, also adding a some new sensors to the configuration.

Separately from that is possible to use ESPHome code to force device give up its factory menu password + some other stuff about TiEmme memory pattern. Everything is tested only on my own fireplace so I cant give 100% assurance that it functions also with all the other devices but as long as it is NG21 board I believe it should work.
