Timmerflotte Temperature Sensor 9 go offline!

A faulty toaster tripped my mains electricity, causing my proxmox host, and by extension, my Home Assistant VM to fully reboot.

Today, approximately 12-16 hours later, my Timmerflotte matter over thread temperatures sensors all dropped off the network.

Between the power outage and them dropping off, they did continue to work and post temperature and humidity data, but I’ve come home to find all 9 offline.

I have various other matter of thread devices from ikea, some battery powered, some mains, and all of them were fine, its only the timmerflottes that were affected.

They all seemed to gradually drop off during the course of the day, rather than all go at once. (according to the last traces I can see)

The only way I could get them back onto the thread network was to take the batteries out of each one and wait approximately 10 seconds before reinserting them. If I replaced them ‘too quickly’ the reset wouldnt work.

Not sure the power outage was the cause, due to the fact that the devices worked okay afterwards, and just wondering if anyone else has encountered anything like this ?

Up until now, they have worked flawlessly for weeks.

This has been my experience as well. It can sit off-line for days and not come back. Mine is located just a meter or two away from an OTBR or Thread “router”. My guess is that IKEA will eventually come out with a firmware fix for it.

I’ve got Thread devices from three brands: Eve, Aqara and Ikea.

The ones from Eve (1x Weather, 4x Energy, 2x Motion, 2x Door & Window) never drop out of my Thread network, the ones from Aqara (2x FP300 sensors) drop out maybe like once a quarter, the Ikea ones (2x Bilresa, 1x Timmerflotte, 1x Klippbok) drop out on a monthly basis (and both Aqara and Ikea devices get fixed by removing the batteries and putting them back in after 15 seconds).

I guess “you get what you pay for” is what we’re all seeing here. I was very enthusiastic about Ikea Thread products when they were announced, now I’m a bit disenchanted wrt them.
