Toggle option not working?

I use both Home Assistant and Hubitat, with Hubitat being my main hub, as it has all the radios (I have already ordered a miniPC, just waiting to make the transition).
My setup (for this case) is:

  • Shelly Wall Button 2
  • Shelly 2PM WiFi
  • 3 IKEA Tradfri Smart Plugs (connected via Hubitat)
  • Regular Ceiling (lights connected via Shelly 2PM)

It was a bit tricky at first, but I managed to setup the 2PM on the Wall Plate with two button (so one button for each switch).
For the ceiling lights, I managed to create an automation of whenever the button is pressed, toggle between on/off. This one wasn’t so hard as they lights were already grouped and hooked up to the same wire, so technically I didn’t even need an automation, I could’ve just left it as a button.

The hard part is the lamps, which are connected via smart plugs.
I tried duplicating the first automation that seems to work flawlessly, but no type of “toggle” option seems to work with these plugs. I had to configure for a press to turn on and a long press to turn off. I’ve already tried a conditional automation (if lights are off, turn on, else turn off), still didn’t work.

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround? Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would appreciate any feedback.

To clarify, you have smart plugs controlling lamps for on/off operation. You want to use a smart button to toggle the switches.

I don’t use that brand of button, but is there a community created Blueprint for it? Mine all have the option to use buttons to toggle if I choose. And that is across 3 brands of buttons.

I’m so sorry for the late reply. For some reason, I was not notified.

Yes, your first paragraph is correct.

I am just starting, so although I haven’t found a community blueprint, I may not be searching effectively. Nonetheless, I have just finished my transition of ditching Hubitat altogether and will retry this. Hopefully, it will work
