Total increasing sensor showing negative values in energy dashboard

Hi there,
I know there is an issue with my modbus inverter but i was wondering why i see a megative value for a total increasing sensor. The inverter meter for a while shows a reading that is lower and then recovers the correct value.

I believed that total incresing was exactly to avoid this kind of issues with negative values. I know that for this specific case it wont solve the problem but i think i could happen to any meter if it resets during the day.

Here’s some screens:

Thanks.

IIRC total increasing meters only trigger a reset when their value drops by like >5% I think, otherwise they just print a warning.

If this case had triggered a reset, then it would have treated that as 218,000kWh in new consumption, so that wouldn’t be any good for you either.

Fix your sensor so it doesn’t decrease and you won’t have problems.

Yep that was what i already supposed in the first post.
I didn’t know the 5% threshold for reset. I think that was the problem in this case.

I will try to manage to elaborate something to work around the issue because the inverter and the modbus converter are old and i think i cannot work directly to fix the issue on it.

Obv now that the value is back at the correct value the two value should compensates themselves and everything is positive in energy distribution. But still i need to fix the stats on developer tools to remove the extra megawatt the system detect as consumed.

Maybe it’s better like this than with a reset.
I was just trying to understand how things were working under the hood.
