I have some Tasmota energy monitoring plugs and they seem to have a 1-second sampling frequency. When energy consumption changes, I seem to get an updated energy reading within a second.
How does the TP-Link HS110 function with regard to the frequency of energy updates? It’s not via MQTT, so I’m wondering if the Home Assistant http API polls the device? If it’s polling, how quickly do you get updates when there is a change in current consumption?
In general, is it less accurate than Tasmota?
I’ve heard about the firmware updates that disable local API, and plan to not update it if I get one. I’m looking to getting one for higher current draw appliance since I don’t completely trust the safety of the no-name brands that are Tasmota converted for high current draws.
