Hello all, I want to transition from Fully Kiosk to WallPanel but want to keep all the features that I was using with Fully Kiosk.
Does WallPanel allow the following…?
Use tablet front camera to detect motion and wake device
Use screen saver and turn off screen after a timeout period
Control brightness of screen
Display Home Assistant in full screen without header or sidebar
Auto launch Home Assistant at start
I have read that you need Fully Kiosk in order to do certain things but I may have not understood what I read. Is WallPanel a stand-alone product?
Thanks
Haven’t tried WallPanel, but I think they’re two different things.
Fully Kiosk is a browser - a stand-alone product. WallPanel appears to be a way of presenting dashboards, so the thing running on your wall-mounted tablet would presumably be the Home Assistant app.
If you look at the docs, it does seem to do most of what you want, though probably not in quite the same way.

I notice that you need an https connection to Home Assistant to use the camera, which is a whole can of worms in itself.

I used the wallpanel lovelace extension.
Wrong Wallpanel.
The OP is referring to this. https://wallpanel.xyz/
Actually I was talking about https://j-a-n.github.io/lovelace-wallpanel/ .
I didn’t even know that https://wallpanel.xyz/ even existed but it also looks interesting.
My goal is to replace FullyKiosk and retain the following functionallity…
Use tablet front camera to detect motion and wake device
Use screen saver and turn off screen after a timeout period
Control brightness of screen
Display Home Assistant in full screen without header or sidebar
Auto launch Home Assistant at start
So it either of these can do it that would be great.
