When I try to add a new insteon device it says it created the link but doesn’t show up in devices and for the hub show a aldb record for a generic controler. It is a eigth button key pad. I just added devices a few weeks ago with no issues. These were just purchased this week. Any Ideas?
First try to reset the device and reboot everything.
An eight button in wall pad or a 8 button wireless key fob? New or used and model number?
I have has that happen to a few devices mostly used ones from someone else and I did not factory reset the switch.
I have a Hub and I just push the switch button and then the modem button to link. Once it beeps it is in and not as a “generic controller”. A reboot to reload insteon and the device appeared correct.
