Trouble connecting to Home Assistant via the companion app

When logged into the Nabu Casa website the status is not connected and the companion app is not connecting either. It all worked fine before I left town. Now I’m 3,000 miles away and can’t connect. I have no idea what to try since I’m away from my computer.

Hi, if NC reports as not connected and not having the ability to see what is happening with your HA, I think you are completely out of options remotely.

if your HA stopped working and you are away more often (and the availability of HA is important) you might consider this:

  1. check out what happened and why
  2. if you have auto updates enabled: turn them off
  3. install a backdoor to your network in the form of a VPN

Those are great suggestions. Something to work on when I’m in front of the computer.
