Hi everyone,
I’m currently trying to integrate three infrared panel heaters from Kesser (model K-IRFH-700 – with Wi-Fi, Tuya-compatible) into Home Assistant. I want to automate them based on the output of my solar PV system.
The heaters work fine in both the Tuya and Smart Life apps – but:
Scenes cannot be created in either app.
Here’s what I’ve already done on the Tuya IoT Platform:
- Created a new project
- Linked two of the heaters (marked as Controllable)
- Switched instruction mode to DP Instruction
- Re-added the devices via Smart Life app
- Switched data center to Central Europe
In debug mode, I can successfully set temperature or timer values, which are applied instantly on the devices – so the communication is working.
However, I still can’t find the Local Key.
It’s not shown under Devices, Debug mode, or anywhere in the device info.
Any ideas on how I might still retrieve the Local Key?
Alternatively, I’m considering using an IR blaster, which would also work without the devices being on Wi-Fi – useful, since one panel can’t connect to Wi-Fi anymore (seems the module is faulty). All panels are in the same room, so IR signal should reach them fine.
Thanks in advance for any help!
You could try the Tuya Local integration instead. I have a different panel heater that is better supported by this custom integration. You might get lucky.
Thanks a lot for your suggestion! I had actually looked into the Tuya Local integration as well – it sounds like a great solution. Unfortunately, as far as I understand, it requires access to the Local Key of the device in order to work, and that’s exactly what I’m currently missing.
I’ve already added the devices to the Tuya IoT platform and can even control them via the “Debug Device” section, but the Local Key just doesn’t show up anywhere – not under the device details, not in the advanced info, and not in the debug section.
So unless there’s a new way to use Tuya Local without the Local Key, I’m stuck at this point. But if I missed something, I’d love to know!
Thanks again for taking the time!
It will try and get the local key from the cloud - you enter your user code (can’t remember how you get that) and it tries to get it. Perhaps worth a try?
Just wanted to thank you again — Tuya Local is working absolutely perfectly now!
I’m honestly a bit over the moon that I finally managed to get everything connected and that I can control my panel heaters directly — it’s so satisfying and I’m super grateful for your suggestion!
I’m still working on building a proper automation based on solar power production (a few bumps there), but I’m sure I’ll get it sorted soon. If you happen to have any tips, I’m all ears — but no pressure at all.
Right now, I’m just running everything in VirtualBox on my desktop PC to test things out. But since it’s going so well, I’m now thinking about moving to dedicated hardware. If you have a recommendation for a good hub to run Home Assistant on, I’d love to hear it. I’m currently leaning toward the iRasptek Raspberry Pi 5 — it seems like a solid choice:

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. You’ve really saved me a lot of frustration!
All the best,
