At one point, I hadf my zwave devices working and recently found that none are. Only a handful of my devices are z-wave, a majority of them are zigbee.
I do need these z-wave ones working though. I have a Zooz 800 series stick and that is found okay. I think I had the z-wave from the integrations as well as from the HA addons and also the zwave js ui. I started reading that you use only one of these I think. So now somehow things are blown out for my zwave and I am wondering what is the correct wat to set this up? I am running HA via a VM.
Do I just only use zwave js ui? Is that the new way? If so, what is the best way to start again and ensure it is fail safe?
As I understand basically Zwave JS and Zwave JS UI are the same thing under the hood. Differences are that version of Zwave JS in both packages might be on different level and Zwave JS UI is boudled with more user friendly user interface.
Effectively, I somehow recently had both ZwaveJS and ZWaveJSUI installed on my HA instance. I would get an error saying ZWaveJS failed to start on boot, and it confused me.
I just made sure the ZWaveJS addon was disabled (turned off start on boot) and kept ZWaveJSUI enabled. I didn’t want to run the risk of uninstalling it because I wasn’t sure what would happen (I guess I could backup and reinstall if worst came to worst, but figured better to be safe).
