With the heating off for the warmer months, one of the most common issues is TRVs seizing up from lack of use. I put together a blueprint to automate the exercise of these valves, keeping the pins moving without accidentally firing up your boiler.
Key Features
- Target ALL or Specific TRVs: Use a single boolean toggle to automatically pull in every climate entity in your instance, or leave it off to manually select specific zones.
- Dynamic Temperature Limits: No hardcoded temperatures. The blueprint reads the
max_tempandmin_tempattributes directly from your specific TRVs to push them to their physical limits. - Safe Heating Cutoff: Select any switches, relays, or booleans (like your boiler relay or zone valves) to safely turn them
offbefore the valves open. - Seamless State Restoration: The automation takes a scene snapshot right before starting and restores your TRVs and heating sources to their exact prior states once the cycles are complete.
- Adjustable Travel Delay: Customize the delay duration to ensure your specific brand of TRV has enough time to mechanically move from fully closed to fully open.
