I am in doubt, IF the TRV (in this case the Sonoff) consumes (more) battery, whenever it is asked to move the needle into a position, and the needle already IS at that position?
I ask, because I am controlling the needle, by changing the “max-needle-position” - so that I control the radiator-ventil percent-wise - fine-regulating the water-flow going through the radiator.
I already have got that working very well - in separate automations - but that so-far leads to 8 automations for my “testing TRV”.
- and, I want to “copy” this, to all my Sonoff-TRVs, which results in much too many automations.
- the advantage though, of the separate automations, is that the TRV “is called” as few times as possible (only 1 time per temperature-interval), to change the needle position a little (typically only 1%).
So - my question is, again/therefore:
- does the TRV use “a significant amount of” battery, if it fx. is “being called /requested” to set the needle-position several times, into the same position!
- I have, so-far, not been able to find a work-around, since I cannot use variables.
- my only “work-around” is to ONLY “call/command” the TRV, once per 5 minutes (calling/commanding it 12 times per hour, i.e. appr. 300 times per day).
