I have been trying to install Matter over Thread on my HA server.
I think I have most of the pieces together but the final step of pairing fails.
I am trying to pair an IKEA MYGGBETT.
The Android App goes through the steps of generating Matter credentials and it is only in the step Checking Connectivity to Thread network that it fails.
However the thread border router seems to have been contacted by the device.
Looking at the Topology shows a child that has appeared after these steps were taken.
I cannot select the child however. Of course, the device does not appear under Matter.
Thread does not seems to be as smooth as Zigbee… I had issues pairing devices. If pairing is not working at all, on your HA companion APP go to settings → Companion App → Troubleshooting, and select Sync Thread Login Credentials. Then try to pair another device. If pairing still fails due to credential issues, then you might need to delete the Google Play Services (Credentials are stored there)data and restart your phone and retry
I will give that a try. But here is a question before I do: The two green dashed circles definitely appeared when I tried to pair two different MYGGBETT sensors. Would they be showing up if their credentials were incorrect?
