Trying to use an old android phone as a 'remote control'

I am moving away from timers and ‘non smart’ light modules with a connected remote control that I’ve used for years.

I have Home Assistant and have replaced the timers with Third Reality Smart Plugs and have the timings programmed. I want to replace the ‘non smart’ remote lamp modules with the same, and replace the physical remote control, with the old phone and the simplest most direct way to switch on and off the lamps in our family room.

Looking at the android app, I see some ‘widgets’ including a ‘toggle/action’ widget. I looked at the documentation (hooray for me! ), and it says that when you create it you ‘Select the action you wish to perform’. That sounds like there should be a list of actions there, but there’s not just an empty text field.

In any case I was looking for a clean button or some kind of ‘front end’ that I can add to the ‘desktop’ in the phone; to toggle light 1, 2 and 3, and no other functions.

Is there any way to do this? Am I missing something in the widget option?

Any recommendations or suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks!
