Tuya 4 gang switch flashing light, not responsive. Fixed by replacing battery

I recently found one of my switches unresponsive wish a flashing light. I tried everything not considering the battery because it still had power obviously.

At last ditch attempt I swapped out for a new battery and it worked immediately. Leaving here for future reference.

I’m not very happy with this swich:

  • every 2 months it is flashing for a new battery, and indeed, the battery is exhausted.
  • Often i have to use a button twice to make HA listen to it.

Same here. Exact same issues. Not happy.

First time I had to replace the battery for this. I didn’t understand at first that it needs a new battery. I thought it’s stuck in pairing mode. Didn’t expect it burned through the battery that fast.
And yes, same issue with requiring to clicks. Seems like it needs to wake up first.

Try this : press 2 and 4 (buttons to the right) simultaneously until everything starts flashing, release and wait until the flashing stops.
I found this somewhere in the community, and since i did this (few days) HA seems to listen correctly to my switch pressing, without having to do it twice.

It’s a few days since i did this, hope this was the trick.

I can confirm that this actually works. No double-presses needed after this procedure.
