Ok, so new to home assistant. I have tons of cheap Aliexpress Tuya devices, but I turn on pair and simply add them to my network. No tuya app, no tuya integration. just straight zigbee integration into HASS. Am I missing something? people keep talking about tuya remote and firmware changes but as far as I can see, it’s all local. Any insight?
Nope.
The integrations (core and 3rd party) are for wifi Tuya devices.
The hate for Tuya is mostly for their wifi range of devices. There are some zigbee devices that are a bit sub-par (e.g. some sensors are overly chatty on the network) but for the most part they are fine.
