Tuya Equipment under 2025.8 upgrade

Hi All,

Last time I upgraded my Home Assistant was when V8 came out I’m currently on version 2025.7.4, When I first upgraded half of my Tuya equipment stopped working, Most of this equipment I purchased late last year and this year and I’m a bit worried that these are no longer supported.

I got LED dimmers, vintage style LED bulbs they are Genio but i’m using the Tuya app to control it and a whole heap of other Tuya stuff. I’m trying to find some notes on whether they’ve stopped supporting it or not. Before I attempt to upgrade again (I had to roll back originally)

Thanks
Daniel

Are you using the core Tuya cloud integration or one of the third party local control integrations?

Also just FYI, the Tuya API is :face_vomiting: . You should consider your hardware choices a bit better in future.

I am mostly relying on localtuya (GitHub - xZetsubou/hass-localtuya: 🔹 A Home Assistant integration to handle Tuya devices locally "fork from localtuya") for wifi based tuya devices, 99.99% of the time, they are ok.

zigbee ones are running with z2m, so they are better

No, I’m using IoT localtuya - Also this had nothing to do with the upgrade, I discovered that the issue was with my DNS server, Put it this way I got more VM’s than one of our mine sites with 600 people on it. What had happened is that one of my DNS server had an overlapping IP addresses for the Wifi network, Donno how but one server had a different set of IP addresses and it was causing issues. Also none of my wifi equipment has access to the internet so localtuya is one of the very few that work at my house, Lifx works but I ended up removing them and built my own downlights for the house.

Thanks for the tip, turns out it was purely a DNS issue and just happen to fail during the upgrade because Home Assistant restarted
