I’ve recently added the Tuya integration as I have some switched sockets that I was controlling via the Tuya app rather than through HA. Initially everything worked as expected. I can still control the sockets through the Tuya app, they were showing up in HA and I was able to link a couple of Zigbee switches to control them locally. However, after a couple of days, I started to get problems and I can’t work out what’s going on.
If I reboot everything, the system works as it should, but if I switch off a redundant zigbee router and switch it back on again, it disrupts the system. It appears that the Zigbee switches will then work once, i.e. if the socket is off, the Zigbee switch can turn it on, and if the socket is on, the Zigbee switch can turn it off.
Using the HA control panel, it mostly works, although sometimes it goes into a state where the switch icon flipped back to ‘off’ after turning the switch on or vice versa.
There’s no issue with weak signals. Everything is in the same room at the moment.
I realize I should probably move to Tuya local and I have got that to work with a couple of devices, but I wasn’t sure how reliable it would be given that it runs under HACS.
I think I have everything set up in the Tuya development environment. I didn’t have the Device Status Notification API installed when I first set it up and didn’t seem to need it, but I’ve added it now. It didn’t make any difference.
I’m running HA version 2023.11.3. No issues apart from the Tuya devices.
